DHAKA: Renowned singer from the 80s Sabah Tani was found dead at her residence in Dhaka’s Uttara on Monday (February 19).
She was 49.
Her body was found in the bathroom. Initially it is being suspected that she might have died from low blood pressure related illness.
Tani lived with her mother in the Uttara residence. Her mother went to her sister’s house at Eskaton on Sunday and spent the night there. Tani, who was alone at home, could not be reached over phone by family members and others since Sunday night.
Sabah was one of the popular pop singer of the country in the 80s and 90s. She became famous for singing in Bangladesh Television and stage. However, in the recent days she was far spotlight.
Tani was seen as a judge in the Sylhet region selection round of the reality show Closeup-1’s 2012 edition. After a long break, she also appeared in several live music programs on television in 2016.
