DHAKA: Vatican Catholic Church Pope Francis is scheduled to arrive here on November 30, reports Radio Vatican.
The Vatican on Tuesday (October 10) released the schedule of Pope Francis’ apostolic visit to Bangladesh and Myanmar.
The two-nation papal visit was announced earlier by the Vatican on August 28.
Bangladesh Foreign Ministry sources said that the Pope will stay Bangladesh from November 30th to December 2nd.
Prior to his Bangladesh trip, he will visit Myanmar on Nov 27 to 30.
Leaving Yangon, he will land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, on November 30.
After a welcome ceremony at the airport, the Pope will pay homage to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the Liberation War Martyrs.
He will then pay courtesy visit to President Md Abdul Hamid and address the diplomats.
On December 1, the Pope will attend a public mass, meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the bishops and representatives of various religions and Christian Churches.
On the last day, December 2, he will visit a home run by the Missionaries of Charity of Mother Teresa, address priests, religious seminarians and novices.
Before flying back to Rome in the evening, he will meet the young people.
