DHAKA: The gold price has been increased again in the country in span of 15 days, as it was increased on July 27 this year. The price was hiked by Tk.1, 500 per bhori.
Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (BAJUS) confirmed the matter through a press release issued on Saturday (August 12).
In the press release, it was said that the price was hiked following the rise of price in the international market. “We have no other option to increase the price following the global market,” said Dilip Kumar Roy, president of the organization.
According to the new rate, each bhori of 22-carat gold will be sold at Tk. 48, 639, while 21-carat gold will be sold at Tk. 46,481.
The new rate will be effective from Sunday (August 13).
