CHITTAGONG: Police have conducted raids in two separate houses in Chittagong city for two and a half hours in suspicion of militant hideouts.
However, nothing suspicious was found after conducting the search that started around 4:30pm on Monday (March 20) and ended 6:00pm.
Police sources said acting on information, law enforcers including Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) and local policemen cordoned off two buildings in CDA residential area under Akbar Shah thana and Easan Mohajon Ghat road in Kattoli area in the city.
Confirming the matter to Banglanews, Chittagong additional deputy commissioner of police (West) Nazmul Hasan said, “We conducted the raid based on the information about militant hideouts. We have searched the place but nothing was found.”
