Bongo, the leading digital entertainment content provider in Bangladesh, has reached the milestone of 1 million subscribers on their YouTube channel ‘BongoBD’.
In recognition of this unique accomplishment, YouTube has awarded Bongo with the 'Golden Play Button', making them the first Bangladeshi channel to receive that honor. The award was accompanied by a personal note from YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki who praised Bongo for being “bigger than Las Vegas,” said a press release issued by Bongo Tuesday (June 26).
Bongo also gained recognition from across the media industry for their role in promoting Bangladeshi video content at home and abroad. Ahad Mohammad Bhai, Managing Director of Bongo, says “Being the first in Bangladesh to receive the Golden Play button from YouTube makes us very proud and inspires us to continue our work in promoting Bangladeshi content around the globe.”
“Over the years we have built a certain expertise on growing an online audience, monetization and copyright enforcement on YouTube. Now we want to use this knowledge to benefit all our local content creators,” he added
In addition to 1 million subscribers on their flagship channel, Bongo also celebrates an important landmark on their YouTube influencer networks. Across all YouTube channels managed and serviced by Bongo, they now reach over 15 million subscribers. Bongo’s team helps label companies, TV networks, and content creators to grow their audience by bringing fresh and high-quality entertainment.
