JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY: Three assistant proctors of Jahangirnagar University resigned on Thursday in protest against assault of teachers by Chhatra League activists.

The proctors are Umme Saika of Geography and Environmental Science Department, Sikder M Zulkarnayeen of Archaeology Department and M Enamul Haque of Zoology Department.

Professor M Enamul Haque said it can not go on that a group of rowdy students will do whatever they like and they will watch only. “We think that the university authority have not shown enough responsibility,” he said.

In this regard, Proctor Professor Mujibur Rahman said, “I have heard about the resignation. Zulkarnayeen and Enamul told me that they do not want to continue. I said them to do what they think better.”
