COMILLA: Comilla Medical College (CMC) was closed till January 11 following a clash between two groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student wing of the ruling party, on the campus Friday (January 5).

All the students were asked to vacate the dormitories by the noon, said CMC Vice Principal Prof Jahangir Hossain. 

The followers of Swadhinata Chikitsak Parishad (Swachip) central leaders Abdul Hannan and Habibur Rahman Palash engaged in a clash over establishing supremacy in Sheikh Russel Hostel, at around 2:30am.

As many as 10 activists were hurt as they used iron rods, hockey sticks and locally made weapons. They were admitted to Comilla Medical College Hospital (CMCH).

Of them, two were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital as their condition is critical, sources said.
