CLS celebrates world peace at ULAB

DHAKA: Center for Language Studies (CLS) celebrated World Peace and Harmony by organizing the musical event ‘Harmonies of Peace’ recently at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh auditorium in city.

Culture secretary Aktari Mamtaz was present as chief guest.

She said, “I am certainly happy to see that CLS is not only focusing on teaching different languages, but also about culture and heritage. And music is, indeed, the universal language to learn about the world.”

Vice-chancellor Professor Imran Rahman, CLS director ATM Sajedul Huq, Academic Development dean Dr. Brian Shoesmith, Registrar and Head of Administration Professor Akhtar Ahmed, Treasurer Professor Milan Kumar Bhattacharjee and other faculty members were also present at the event.

In this multilingual musical program, the two dance pieces highlighted the major problems facing society today and the choir presented six songs in Nepali, French, English and Bangla, promising a beautiful future through the harmonies they created.

The performers transformed the evening’s serene ambience into a memorable one through their mesmerizing performances, said a press release.
