JSC-JDC exams begin Tuesday

DHAKA: Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations for 8th grade students are scheduled to begin on Tuesday (November 1).

A total of 2,412,775 examinees will sit for the upcoming examinations and the number of girl candidates is higher than boys.

Education minister Nurul Nahid made the assertion at a press conference in the ministry conference room in secretariat in city on Sunday (October 23).

He said the examinations will be held as per schedule and students are required to enter the examination hall 30 minutes before it begins to avoid any disorder.

Putting importance on issues like plagiarism, copy and question paper leaks, the minister said, “As the number of test centers has increased, we have to focus on these issues. It will be difficult to print this huge amount of question papers, serve them in the exam halls and to guard the students day after day”.

The examinations will end on November 17 and results will be published by November 30, he added.

Education secretary Sohrab Hossain, primary education department director general (DG) SM Wahiduzzaman and other ministry officials were also present at the event.
