DHAKA: Prof Dr Md Nazmul Hasan has been appointed the chairman of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited.

Board of directors of the bank appointed him chairman, at a meeting Tuesday (April 17), said a press release sent to media at the night.

In the evening, Arastoo Khan resigned from the same post on personal ground.  

Nazmul is a member of the bank’s board of directors and executive committee.

Nazmul, a professor at Dhaka University (DU) and Brown University of the United States, took higher education on Development Economics and Human Nutrition.

He also taught at the DU-affiliated Institute of Nutrition & Food Science.
