DHAKA: Finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith has said the new law for value-added tax (VAT) will be effective from July 15.

Talking to the journalists after a meeting in Secretariat on Sunday (May 14), Muhith said that the new VAT rate will be 15 per cent and it will be effective from July 15.  

Replying to a question, the minister said that they discussed the matter with the businessmen.
