07 April 2012- Home Minister Advocate Sahara Khatun categorically said that the police would be directed to provide maximum security to journalists of the country. The Minister came up with the assertion Saturday inviting journalists’ leaders to a tea party at her city residence.

08 April 2012- The High Court Sunday issued a rule upon the government and authorities concerned of University of Dhaka to explain within four weeks why the failure in holding election of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) should not be declared illegal. An HC bench comprising Justice Mirza Hossain Haider and Justice Muhammad Khurshid Alam passed the order following a writ petition.

09 April 2012- Abul Kalam Azad alias ‘Bacchu Razakar’, accused for crimes against humanity during liberation war in 1971, has managed to flee to India on way to Pakistan. Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) made the disclosure at a press conference on Monday evening.

10 April 2012- Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Barrister Shafique Ahmed said the war criminals would be tried after arresting them wherever they hide. The minister came up with the declaration Tuesday while addressing a discussion organised by ‘Ekattorer Ghatak-Dalal Nirmul Committee’ at World Volunteers’ Association (WVA) auditorium in city.

11 April 2012- Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Director General (research, evaluation and awareness) Brigadier General (retd) M H Salahuddin said it is not possible for ACC alone to prevent corruption of 16 crore people of Bangladesh.

12 April 2012- National Human Rights Commission fined Nazrul Islam Bhuiyan, managing director of Ashiyan Shital Chhaya Project in Rupganj of Narayanganj for violating its order. A five-member committee led-by Commission Chairman Dr. Mizanur Rahman gave the order fining five thousand taka.

13 April 2012- Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also ruling Awami League president, Friday categorically said there is no alternative to democracy for attaining peace, which is prerequisite for the development. “The peace itself depends on prevalence and practice of justice in the political, social and economic spheres,” she said.
