31 March 2012- Four new police stations of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), among eight, will come into operation from April, said a DMP source. The thanas are- Bhatara, Wari, Banani and Rupnagar. Operation of the rest thanas will start within next two or three months and they are—Shahjahanpur, Mugda, Bhasantek and Uttara West thana. The government approved eight new thanas of the capital city in the last year. banglanews24.com

01 April 2012- Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Golam Rahman categorically termed the stay orders of higher courts as ‘barrier’ in disposing of ACC cases speedily. The ACC chief came up with the observation Sunday while addressing a discussion meeting held at its’ office in the city. banglanews24.com

02 April 2012- At least six alleged terrorists were killed in a gunfight between Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and their cohorts in Khatara area of the district of Narsingdi on Monday afternoon. banglanews24.com

03 April 2012- The gazette of International Crimes Tribunal- 2 has been published. A source of law ministry confirmed the matter to banglanews on Tuesday. President M Zillur Rahman has already recruited Justice A T M Fazle Kabir as Chairman while Justice Obaidul Hasan and Md Shahinur Islam as members. 04 April 2012- National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Chairman Dr Minzanur Rahman Wednesday categorically said the incident of recent gunfight in Narsindi district that killed six people is an extra judicial killing. “The incident of killing six people through so-called gunfight in Narsingdi district is an extra judicial killing. 05 April 2012- Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel beat black and blue a Bangladeshi citizen in Ghojadanga area near Bhomra land port on Wednesday evening. The victim was identified as Gopal Chandra Roy, 40, son of late Puranjan Roy of Pikepara village under Debhata upazila. banglanews24.com

06 April 2012- US Immigration and Customs Enforcement report to Congress last week said, because of criminal convictions the federal government deported more than 46,000 parents who claimed their children are U.S. citizens, during the first six months of last year. An additional 21,860 parents of US-citizen children were ordered out of the country but may not have left according to the new report. This new report has raised concerns about what happens to children after their parents is expelled. banglanews24.com
