Narail clash kills 1, injures 19

NARAIL: One person was killed and 19 others were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers over fishing at Halna village under Lohagara upazila on Friday evening.
The deceased was identified as Mosharaf Hossain Molla, 35, son of Yusuf Ali Molla of Halna village under the upazila.
Local sources said Nazir Mia had a longtime dispute with Jafar over establishing supremacy in the area.
Later, supporters of the two groups locked into a clash over fishing at the village that left 20 people injured on the spot.
Amongst the injured, four were rushed to Narail Sadar Hospital where duty doctor declared Mosharaf dead around 9pm
Besides, two others were admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
The other injured were given first aid.
Local UP Chairman Syed Faizur Amir Litu confirmed the matter.
Narail Sadar Hospital emergency department doctor Sajul Kumar Bagchi said, “Amongst the injured, Kashem and Nur Alam is in a critical condition.”
Confirming the matter to banglanews, Lohagara Thana OC Akram Hossain said, we were not informed about the death.
