Teenager killed in Noakhali road crash

NOAKHALI: A teenage boy was killed when a truck knocked him down near Choukidar intersection area of Binodpur union under Sadar Upazila on Saturday night.
The victim was identified as Md Ripon, 13, employee of Farhana Textile of Al-Amin Company and son of Md Liton of Safipur village of the upazila.
Sudharam Model Thana SI Abdul Baten told banglanews, a speedy truck ran over Ripon while he was returning home riding on a bicycle at around 10:30am, leaving him dead on the spot.
Later, the driver of the killer truck fled away leaving the truck on roadside while people chased the truck.
On information, Shudharam Thana police recovered the body and seized the killer truck.
Police handed over the body to victim’s family without an autopsy under local people’s pressure.
