Bogra medical college closed for indefinite period

BOGRA: The authorities of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College, Bogra Tuesday closed the institute for an indefinite period following clashes between BCL and JCD activists.
Principal Professor Dr Mahbubul Karim told banglanews that the academic council took the decision at an emergency meeting in the afternoon apprehending further clashes.
The resident students were asked to vacate the dormitories by 5:00pm.
Earlier on Monday afternoon, clash erupted when BCL activists intervened in a meeting of the JCD at the college canteen.
Later, the BCL activists attacked the Chhatra Dal men at the college dormitories, leaving at least 15 injured, including Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College unit president Nasimuzzaman.
