Khaleda goes to Nat’l Memorial for making chaos: Hanif
DHAKA: Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif Friday alleged that opposition leader and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia went to the National Memorial at Savar on March 26 in order to create chaos.
The AL leader also denied the allegation against government of hindering Khaleda Zia from going to the National Mausoleum to pay respect to the martyrs.
He came up with the allegation while addressing, as chief guest, a seminar on ‘Independence, Bangabandhu’s dream and implementation’ organised by Bangabandhu Education and Research Council in Business Faculty auditorium of Dhaka University on Friday.
Indicating Khaleda Zia, Hanif said, “You know the state protocol as a former prime minister. So, why you went to the National Monument 20 minutes before the President’s to pay tribute to the martyrs?”
“Law enforcers prevented Khaleda according to their rules,” he said, adding “You went there just to make chaos and disorder and it was proved as your boys carried sticks instead of flowers on that day.”
Alleging that Khaleda Zia has already made huge loss for the country, the Awami League leader suggested her to go anywhere in the world in stead of making any more loss.
“Otherwise, we will be bound to force you go out of the country even by fighting 30 years more.”
Addressing Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Hanif said, “I respect you mush as a well educated man, but it makes me ashamed when you lie just to protect your post.”
The AL leader warned the opposition saying no one would be able to oust the ruling Awami League government from power by movement and demonstration.
With Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University Vice-Chancellor Shah-E-Alam in the chair, the seminar was also addressed, among others, by State Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Advocate Quamrul Islam.
