
People’s demo to foil govt deception: Fakhrul

DHAKA: Opposition BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir Saturday said any deception of the government would not be sustained amid the demonstration of the people,
The spokesperson for the party also said the periphery of existing 18-party alliance would expand in the future.
He came up with the assertion while talking to journalist after placing floral wreaths to graveyard of Zia along with other released BNP leaders in the morning.
Regarding ultimatum he said, “We want the government to be realized. If they fail to do so, they will be forced to meet all our demands including caretaker government system.”
The senior leader of the party alleged that the government aim to confine the opposition leaders turned futile as arresting once again the freed leaders from the jail gate is completely illegal.
Mentioning that government intends to slay the democracy, he said the government went bankrupt politically.
They became desperate as they lost people’s support. “We want the democracy should run on its own track,” he said.
Fakhrul said, “We solicit more about our demands including release of Ilias Ali and caretaker government restoration.”
Quoting the prime Minister’s speech ‘AL plants and BNP consumes the fruits’ the BNP leader said, the truth is vice versa. “Every sector, including the employment was well during our regimes,” he said.
Mentioning the Rohingya crisis, he said, government should act humanely in this regard.
The programme was also addressed, among others, by standing committee members of the party ASM Hannan Shah, Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia, Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Tariqul Islam and Mirza Abbas and Chief Whip Zainul Abdin Farroque also spoke.
