
Neutral elections impossible under elected govt: Rafiqul

DHAKA: Opposition BNP standing committee member Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia said free, fair and credible elections could not be possible under any elected government.
“No country of the world holds elections under an elected government,” he said.
The senior leader of the party came up with the observation while addressing a human chain demo in front of National Press club on Thursday.
Indicating Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he said, “It would be better for you restore the caretaker government system.”
Opposition Chief Whip Zainul Abdin Farroque said, “Our leaders and activists are being arrested across the country. Our movement will be tougher despite of their arrest.”
He said, “We do not want the ruling party to be ousted in disgraceful way. So, arrange elections under caretaker government.”
