President reveals report Monday
DHAKA: President Zillur Rahman is set to unveil the final report of the 5th population and household census-2011 at Bangabhavan, the presidential palace on Monday.
Statistics Department confirmed the matter to banglanews.
President Zillur Rahman will unveil the report by clicking the BBS website at 12.30 pm tomorrow, said Bangabhaban official sources.
The president is also scheduled to hold conversations through video conferencing to the heads of district population census committees and also the district deputy commissioners while unveiling the final report.
Earlier on July 16, 2012, the Planning Ministry published the preliminary report of the census, conducted on March in the same year.
According to the primary report, country’s population now stands at 14.23 crore and 19 thousand by official count, conducted during the latest census, and continues to grow at a rather high rate of 1.34 percent per annum.
The Fifth Population and Household Census report says the country’s population size as 14, 231, and 9000.
Of the total population, 7 crore 12 lakh 55 thousand are male and 7 crore 10 lakh 64 thousand female.
The census report shows the male-female ratio as 103.3:100. That means there are 100.3 men against 100 women.
As estimated, the population growth is 1.34 percent and the density of population is 964 per square-kilometer.
According to the preliminary report, there are some 32,067,700 families in the country and the average members of a family are 4.4.
Earlier, all Households and population information of the country was collected from March 15 to 19 in 2011.
296718 field level trained surveyors filled the questionnaire forms under supervision of 48531 trained supervisors.
United Nation Population Fund (UNPFA) and USAID jointly sponsored the financial and technical stuffs.
