
3 killed by tiger in Sundarbans in 3-day

SATKHIRA: Three people were killed in separate tiger attacks in the Sundarbans in the last three days.
A honey collector was killed in an attack by a tiger in the Sundarbans in Kakrar Khal area on Monday morning.
The deceased was identified as Shahar Ali, 50, resident of Shora village under Ramjan Nagar union.
Local sources said a tiger suddenly attacked him and dragged him into the deep forest of Sundarbans when was collecting honey in Kakrar Khal area about 8:00am.
Later, his friends recovered the body and took it to his resident around 12:00 noon.
Confirming the matter Shundarban Satkhira Range ACF Toufiqur Islam told banglanews, “In spite of giving warning, the honey collectors often go to the deep forest, giving the tigers chance to attack them.”
At least three people were killed in separate tiger attacks in the district in last three days, said sources.
Earlier, two local wood cutters--Hazer Ali and Azibar Dawfadar--were killed by tigers on Sunday and Saturday.
