Clashes injure 50 in Gopalganj

GOPALGANJ: At least 50 people were injured in sporadic clashes centering establishing supremacy in Bahirbagh village under Kashiani upazila of the district on Monday morning.
Locals said that there was a long standing dispute between Sharif and Mia clans, and on Sunday night supporters of the clans locked into an altercation.
Later on Monday morning at 5:00am, the supporters locked into sporadic clashes in the area, vandalized and looted several houses, leaving 50 people injured.
Officer-in-Charge of Kashiani Thana Borhanuddin told banglanews that police held five people from the spot and additional law enforcers were deployed in the area to avert any further clash.
