
3 Bangabandhu Bridge officials sacked

TANGAIL: Three officials of MCCC-SEL-UDC, a Bangabandhu Bridge management and maintained organization, were sacked for their involvement in committing corruption, taking extortion and neglecting duty.
The sacked officials are Assistant Camp officer Abul Hasan, Patrol Supervisors Shafiqul Islam Tanmoy and Rafiqul Islam.
Sources said the three persons have been collecting toll from over-loaded goods-laden trucks, negligence in performing their duties, misappropriating money of wrecker using and stealing oil in the name of patrolling.
On August 10, Bangladesh Bridge Authority asked the construction farm to sack its three officials. As per the directive, the farm authority sacked them on Tuesday.
MCCC-SEL-UDC Chief Engineer Mozammel Haque confirmed it to banglanews.
