5 state-run banks’ chairmen tenure extended

DHAKA: The government has extended the tenure of the chairmen of five state-run banks by two years.
The banks are Rupali Bank, Agrani Bank, Janata Bank, Basic Bank and Ansar-VDP Development Bank.
Banking and Financial Institutions division of finance ministry published a gazette notification in this regard Wednesday.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith made the disclosure while talking to journalists at his secretariat office in the city.
The finance minister told the journalists that the incumbent chairman of Sonali Bank will continue to perform his duty until further directive is given.
