AL leader killed in Narsingdi

NARSINGDI: Unidentified miscreants chopped dead former Narsinghdi Municipality Commissioner and Awami League leader Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Shajahan, 50, General Secretary of Awami League, Ward-2 unit of the municipality.
Police recovered the body in the evening from Puranparha area.
Sadar Police Station Sub-Inspector Moksed Mollah told banglanews that the body was sent to Narsinghdi Sadar Hospital for an autopsy.
He added: “The motive of the murder is not known yet. Tension is mounting in the area following the murder.”
On November 2 in 2011, masked assailants shot dead Narsinghdi Mayor and Awami League’s city unit General Secretary Lokman Hossain.
