30 injured in Rupganj clash

RUPGANJ, NARAYANGANJ: At least 30 people were injured in a clash between two rival groups of Awami League over a previous feud and establishing supremacy in Rupganj upazila of the district Tuesday.
Witnesses said supporters of Shahjahan Bhuiyan and Golam Dastogir locked into a fierce clash with lethal arms, leaving 30 people of both groups injured.
The injured were admitted to Rupganj Health Complex and different clinics of the area.
Confirming the matter to banglanews, Rupganj UNO Syeda Farhana Kawnaine said, “The clash occurred over the factional conflict between the groups.”
Additional law enforcers were deployed in the area to keep the situation under control, she added.
