
Thursday’s stocks end higher

DHAKA: Investors saw gain in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Thursday.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) general index rose over 87 points to stand at 4164 on the last trading day of the week.
The volume of transactions, however, tumbled to Tk 1,856 million from Wednesday’s Tk 2, 015 million.
Trade deals stood at 68,188 against the previous day’s 76,524.
Of the issues traded, 228 advanced, 27 declined and 15 remained unchanged.
GRAMEENPHONE LTD. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 107 million having changed hands.
The other turnover leaders were BSCCL, JAMUNAOIL, MEGHNA PETROLEUM LIMITED, LANKABANGLA FINANCE LTD, LAFARGE SURMA CEMENT LTD, NBL, BEXIMCO, AFTABAUTO and KEYA COSMETICS.
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8030 by gaining over 110 points.
Out of the issues traded, 138 gained, 37 declined and 19 remained unchanged.
