1 killed, 24 injured in Comilla road crash

COMILLA: A person was killed and 24 others injured while a bus plunged into a roadside ditch in front of Hotel Highway Inn under Chauddagram upazila on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Karim, helper of the bus, hailed from Cox’s Bazar.
The injured were admitted to Comilla Medical College Hospital.
Miarbazar Highway Police Sergeant Shahabuddin Ahmed told banglanews that a Nabinagar-bound bus from Chittagong plunged into a roadside ditch around 10:30am as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving the bus helper dead on the spot and 24 others injured.
Police sent the body to hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
