BU celebrates Independence Day

DHAKA : Bangladesh University (BU) Monday celebrated the Independence Day through holding discussion and Doa mahfil on its’ permanent campus in Adabor area under Mohammadpur Thana of the city.
The topic of discussion was ‘Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and War of Independence’.
The speakers of the discussion recalled the glorious contribution and sacrifice of the father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
They also made clarion call students to contribute to build up golden Bangladesh as Father of the nation dreamt of following his ethics and ideals.
With Controller of Examination and Director of Students Affairs Lt Col (Retd) Mahmud Ul Alam in the chair, the discussion was also addressed, among others, by Member of the Board of Trustees Quazi Shawkat Hossain, Registrar (in-charge) Nahreen Choudhury, Head of English and Adviser, Students Welfare Professor Mustafa Kamaluddin, Dr Enamul Aziz, Mr Sadiq Iqbal and Mr Shafiqul Islam.
A large number of students, teachers and staffs were present on the occasion.
In the afternoon, a friendly Cricket match was held at the playground of permanent campus of BU. Students of the university participated in the match.
