
Sangram editor, lawyers seek apology

DHAKA: Editor of the daily Sangram editor Abul Asad and lawyers of Feni bar on Monday sought unconditional apology to International Crimes Tribunal-1 in contempt charges.
The three-member tribunal led by ICt-1 chairman fixed April 26 for issuing order in this regard after hearing. All of them including Sangram editor will be appeared before it on the day.
Earlier in the morning, they appeared before the tribunal as per summon order issued by it.
Supreme Court bar president Advocate Joynul Abedin stood for the lawyers of Feni bar while Advocate Jeyad Al Malum moved for the prosecution.
Earlier on April 2, the ICT summoned Daily Sangram editor-publisher Abul Asad, its reporter and 11 lawyers of Feni district to appear before it on April 16 following a report item published in the newspaper on April 1.
The report mentioned that the eminent lawyers of Feni district condemned and protested for taking the fake and fabricated statement against Jamaat leader Delawar Hossain Sayedee as deposition.
