DHAKA: Walton High-tech Industries Limited, the leading electronics company of the country is likely to get duty-free access of its products to Nepal.
In terms of bilateral product access condition, the company may get the opportunity soon.
Commerce Secretary Golam Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
He said, “We offered duty-free access of Pran and Walton products to Nepal as we are considering duty-free access of some 145 Nepali products to Bangladeshi market.”
We proposed Nepal for the duty-free access of Bangladeshi medicine, Pran agro products, Walton refrigerator and Walton electronics to their country, he added.
Appreciating the initiatives of the government in this regard, Walton Executive Director Emdadul Haque Sarkar said it will fuel the economy of Bangladesh and expand the market of Bangladeshi products.
A commerce secretary level meeting between the two countries was recently held at Kathmandu.
