Stable electricity next year: Muhith

SYLHET: Finance Minister AMA Muhith said the country will witness stability in electricity sector in the next year as current year’s situation is better.

He came up with the declaration while inaugurating a power generation sub-station in Sylhet suburb area at around 3:30pm on Wednesday.

It will take time to resolve the electricity problem completely in Sylhet, he added.

The minister also said electricity production is adequate in Sylhet but there is problem in control and distribution.

Criticizing vandalizing and blocking roads for electricity, he termed blocking roads and torching vehicles as an act of terrorism and said these are not the ways of protest.

Sylhet City Mayor Badaruddin Ahmed Kamran, Zila Parisad and District AL President Abduz Jahir Chowdhury Sufian, Deputy Commissioner Khan Md Bilal were, among others, present in the meeting.
