NILPHAMARI: Police filed case against 200 leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir for their involvement in attacking police in the district.
Sub-Inspector Mokarram Hossain of Domar upazila filed the case on Wednesday night with the Police Station accusing them on charge of baring the police to carry out their duty and attacking the police.
Meanwhile, police arrested seven accused till morning in this connection.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the police station Kafil Uddin told banglanews that only 73 names were mentioned in the case, rest of the accused was unknown.
Police are on drive to nab the criminals, the OC added.
At least 5 police personnel were injured on Wednesday while activists of Jamaat-Shibir clashed with cops in the upazila.
