DHAKA: Trading is suspended in Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) on Tuesday due to the technical problems at Central Depository Bangladesh Limited (CDBL).
DSE took the decision at an emergency meeting on Tuesday morning.
DSE DGM Shafiqur Rahman and CSE president Al Maruf Khan confirmed it to banglanews.
As per DSE website, DSE Board for the greater interest of the capital market and investors has decided to keep the market closed until sell transactions of Monday’s trade are uploaded to CDBL’s system.
Earlier on Monday night, CDBL technical officer Md. Ahsan told banglanews about the technical fault at CDBL.
Portfolios of investors and information regarding trading of share market remains preserved at CDBL.
On Monday, most of investors alleged that they did not get their portfolio related information due to technical fault at CDBL.
Some 236 Brokerage houses or Merchant Banks, out of 238, are facing the problem.
CDBL and HP are working jointly to solve the problem.
