RMG worker killed in Ashulia road crash

DHAKA: A garments worker was killed as a bus ran over him in Nishchintapur area of Ashulia under Savar Upazila of the district on Tuesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Zakirul, 30, employee of Ranzon Sweater Factory, son of Anisur Rahaman, hailed from Tarukapur village under Islampur Upazila of Jamalpur district.

Witnesses said a Tangail-bound bus from Dhaka ran over him at around 8:00am in the area while he was crossing the road, leaving him injured critically.

Later, he succumbed to his injuries on the way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Ashulia Thana Officer-in-Charge Sheikh Badrul Alam confirmed the incident to banglanews.
