DHAKA: Expressing profound concern, missing BNP leader Elias Ali’s wife Tahsina Rushdir Luna said she had not got any news or assurance from any source about returning her husband.
She came up with the concern while talking to journalists after meeting with Mahmudur Rahman Manna, an Awami League leader and DCC mayoral candidate, who went to Elias Ali’s residence consoling his family members.
She said, “I did not get any news or assurance of returning my husband. I lost words to speak. My son’s HSC exam is going on. I don’t know what he is writing on his answer scripts.”
At the time, Tahsina Rushdir broke down in tears over her husband’s missing.
In a query if any condition given to her for Elias Ali’s return, she said none gave her any condition. “I want him back on any condition,” she said.
On the other hand, Manna said he had a good relation with Elias Ali. Indicating Tahsina Rushdir, he said she is cordially praying for Elias Ali’s return.
Claiming incidents of missing, murder increased in the country, the DCC mayoral candidate hoped that such kind of incident would be stopped soon.
Regarding Ali’s missing, he said, “The incident is connected to person, family and also political party. This should be solved very soon.”
On April 17, BNP organizing secretary M Elias Ali went missing with his personal car driver.
BNP observed dawn-to-dusk countrywide hartal for the last three consecutive days in protest against the incident of the missing.
