Cops-mob clash injures 20 in Hatia

NOAKHALI: At least 20 people including cops were injured in a clash between cops and locals at Hatia upazila in the district.

Sources said, locals beat up a group of 9 suspect robbers and locked them up in union parishad complex at Char Union of the upazila at around 8:00 am.

But the angry mob tried to kill the suspect robbers snatching them from police, while they were picking up.

Later locals locked into clash with cops. Police fired some 30 robber bullets and tear shells to disperse the angry mob, leaving 20 people injured.

Injured police were sent to medical.

Officer-in-Charge of Hatia Thana Muktar Hossain, who also received injury, confirmed this to banglanews.
