DHAKA: Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) President Kazi Akhram Uddin Ahmed on Tuesday said they would pressurize on top two political parties of the country, if time demands, to resolve the existing political instability.
The industrialist, however, declined talking elaborately on how to pressurize the parties of the country.
He came up the comments in an exclusive interview with banglanews at the federation office in capital’s Motijheel on Tuesday.
Kazi Akram added: “Political instability puts negative impact on markets in home and abroad.”
The leader of the business community also said, “Local entrepreneurs keep aloof from investment if such political instability exists.”
He added: “The foreign entrepreneurs are also discouraged due to unstable political situation of the country.”
Talking to banglanews, the businessperson also said the opposition should go to the parliament to place their demands.
Indicating the opposition, he said, “The opposition should go and place their demands in parliament in spite of doing agitation on road and streets.”
Regarding the existing political situation of the country, Kazi Akram, also Chairman of Standard Bank, said the government should urge the opposition to sit in a table to resolve the political crisis.
He demanded persons involved in scams, including Hall-Mark and Destiny to ensure transparency and accountability in country’s business era.
He also urged the government to remove the barriers on way to business in the country.
