CHAPAINAWABGANJ: An Indian youth was killed in an alleged gun fight between Border Security Force (BSF) of India and cattle trader in Singnagar frontier under Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Alim Sheikh, 20, son of Abu Talib Sheikh, hailed from Maldaha district of India.
Captain of Border Guard Bangladesh Chapainawabganj-9 Battalion Major Monjur Alam said, “Alim was taking cattle along with some Bangladeshi cattle traders through the border.”
They locked into a gun fight with BSF when BSF men opened fire targeting them, leaving Alim dead in Indian Territory, he added.
