Twin boys drown in Ctg

CHITTAGONG:  Six-year-old twin boys were drowned in a pond at Chandanaish upazila in the port city on Friday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Raihan and Borhan, sons of a Mahbubul Haq, a farmer of Dakkhin Hashimpur village in the upazila.

The family members said Borhan was playing with another boy near a pond adjacent to their house. All of a sudden, he fell into the pond.

Raihan jumped into water to protect his brother, said a spot account of the incident.

Hearing screams, family members of the victims rushed to the spot and rescued them around 3:30pm.

They were rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where duty doctors declared them dead.

Police Constable Regan Barua of Chittagong Medical College Hospital Police Outpost confirmed the matter to banglanews.
