Ferdousi Rahman, MA Mannan get Nazrul Padak

DHAKA : Noted Nazrul singers Ferdousi Rahmanan and MA Mannan were honoured with the Nazrul Padak on Saturday to mark Nazrul’s 113th birth anniversary.

The noted Nazrul Sangit singer Sourab Hossain handed over the award, consisting of crests, cheques, at a two-day festival organized by Nazrul Sangit Shilpi Parisad at Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium of National Public Library in city’s Shahbag.

The festival financed by banglalink, a mobile phone operating company, for the fifth time.
The awardees were handed over cheque TK 50,000 each.
 Besides, 20 others from 20 districts, working on Nazrul’s work, were also awarded in the programme.
Banglalink senior marketing Director Shihab Ahmed said, “National poet of Bangladesh Nazrul occupies a special place in the hearts of banglalis as a symbol of culture. We are very glad to associate with the festival for five consecutive years.”

 Nazrul Sangit Shilpi Parisad organizing secretary Sujit Mostafa, Banglalink officer Shibly Sadik attened the award distribution ceremony.
