GOALONDO (RAJBARI) : The government has hiked the fares for ferry services on Daulatdia-Paturia route by 10 percent due to the rise of fuel prices from Saturday morning.
Assistant Manager (Trade) of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation’s (BIWTC) Daulatdia office M Jahir Ahmed told banglanews that the newly fixed fares were enforced from 6:01am.
He said the authorities concerned have taken the decision due to the consecutive rise in fuel prices.
The fares were increased from Tk 960 to 1060 for big truck, Tk 555 to 620 for small truck, Tk 1608 to 1815 for chair coach bus, Tk 1333 to Tk 1455 for small bus, Tk 695 to Tk 755 for minibus, Tk 535 to Tk 590 for microbus, ambulances, tempo and human hauler Tk 495 to TK 550 for Nishan and Pajero, Tk 280 to Tk 310 for private car and jeep.
Besides, the passenger fare was increased from Tk 8 to Tk 10 but the rickshaw-van and rickshaw fare remained unchanged.
