DHAKA: Opposition BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir Thursday said his party would welcome the third force if it is any political party, but not any unconstitutional force.
He made the remarks in response to a query from journalists at ‘Meet the Reporters’ programme at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU).
DRU secretary Sazzad Alam Khan Topu moderated the session chaired by DRU president Sakhawat Hossain Badsha.
Criticizing foreign minister Dipu Moni’s comment about Jamaat’s link with Rohingyas, he said, “Ministers’ remarks should be more responsible. People will not take it positive if anyone speaks without evidence.”
In response to another question, Fakhrul said, “The verdict over caretaker government reads that two more elections would be held under the CG system. We are giving the same proposal.”
The senior BNP leader also assured that BNP would try to stop extra-judicial killing and give full dignity to the journalists if the party assumes power in future.
