DHAKA: Country’s stock market marked a minor gain in its price indices on Thursday after falling for last some trading days.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) general index rose over 4 points only to stand at 4,300 at the close on the last trading day of the week.
The volume of transactions, however, slightly tumbled to Tk 1,185 million from Wednesday’s Tk 1,228 million. Trade deals stood at 45,180 against the previous day’s 46,194.
Of the issues traded, 163 advanced, 79 declined and 20 remained unchanged.
BSCCL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 87 million having changed hands.
The other turnover leaders were LAFSURCEML, GP, MPETROLEUM, LANKABAFIN, SQURPHARMA, NBL, MICEMENT, JAMUNAOIL and BEXIMCO.
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8,251 by gaining over 10 points.
Out of the issues traded, 9 gained, 166 declined and 4 remained unchanged.
On Wednesday, the benchmark indices at DSE and CSE also shed 108 and 181 points respectively.
