DHAKA: BNP standing committee member Tariqul Islam Saturday threatened the government to seize Dhaka city if the June 11 mass rally of the party is hindered.
He came up with the warning while addressing a protest rally held at National Press Club in the city Saturday.
Tariqul Islam said, “Awami League never did the transparent politics and there is no alternative of mass upsurge to oust them.”
The incumbent government has to bear the liability of any situation occurred for putting obstacle, he forewarned.
With Ex VC of Shere Bangla Agricultural University Dr AM Faruk in the chair, the rally was also addressed, among others, by opposition chief whip Joynul Abdin Faruk, former education minister Dr Osman Faruk and Jubo Dal president Moazzem Hossain Alal.
