DHAKA: The Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid has called a meeting Monday to resolve the crisis of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
The education minister has invited all deans, departmental heads and teachers in the meeting to find a way out to resolve the problem.
The minister said, “The resignation of the 23 BUET teachers have not been accepted and they are also invited in the meeting.”
Earlier, the minister sat in a meeting with University Grants Commission chairman AK Azad Chowdhury, parliamentary standing committee chairman on education affairs Rashed Khan Menon and education secretary Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury at his office.
The crisis occurred in BUET when Teachers’ Association of the university started staging movements to press home their 16-point demand that include mainly the resignation of the VC and Pro-VC.
