DHAKA: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir Friday said the ten months in Padma Bridge project would not be wasted if the government takes action against the corruption.
He came up with the observation at a view exchange meeting at a city hotel in the morning.
The BNP leader also expressed hope that the government would not support corruption in the new project of Padma Bridge construction.
“We have to leave the politics of vengeance and killing,” he said, adding, “The top institutions of the country are being destroyed for such politics. The Vice Chancellors of the universities acts like political persons.”
With Chhatra Dal president Abdul Quader Bhuyan Jewel in the chair, the programme was also attended, among others, by BNP’s student affairs secretary Shahiduddin Chowdhury Annie, Sultan Salauddin Tuku, JCD secretary Habibur Rashid Habib and organizing secretary Rajib Ahsan.
