DHAKA: Indian Bangla rock music band ‘Chandrabindoo’, led by Upal Sengupta, will perform at Fantasy Kingdom at Ashulia in Dhaka.
The programme, to be organised by Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre, will begin at 4:00pm on December 21.
Its performance will also be held in Foy’s Lake in Chittagong at 4:00pm on December 22.
According to the organisers, ‘Chandrabindoo’, formed in 1989, has 14 albums. The band’s fourth music album, which was released during the Durga Puja in 2001, had a sale of more than 400,000 copies and received the Gold Disc award.
‘Chandrabindoo’s music has shades of Pop, Reggae, Calypso, Techno and traditional forms. Lyrics are often humorous with serious undertones’, says the release provided by the organisers.
‘Chandrabindoo’ is the last letter of Bengali alphabet and thus the name bears an essence of reaching for the ultimate’ the release added.
The band’s current line-up includes Upal, Anindya, Chandril, Surajit, Arup, Rajshekhar Sibu, Sourabh, and Tirthankar.
