DHAKA: Opposition leader and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia reached Saudi Arabia on Thursday morning for performing Umrah and Itikaf.
According to BNP’s press wing, a flight of Emirates airline carrying Khaleda Zia landed at the Jeddah Airport at 9:20am (BDST).
BNP leaders and activists led by Saudi Arabia BNP President Ahmed Ali Mukib received her on her arrival in Jeddah.
Mukib told banglanews: “She will stay in Taif tonight and exchange views with expatriate leaders and activists. She is set to perform her Itikaf at Masjid-e-Nababi after offering her Juma prayer at the Kaba Sharif.”
She is expected to return home on 29th Ramadan after the Umrah.
