DHAKA: State minister for law affairs Quamrul Islam said there is no way to hold talk about the caretaker government system as it became a dead issue for the people.

Addressing the opposition, he said, “But, we could talk about interim government. An open discussion on forming the interim government with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair will be taken place in the parliament soon.”

“Join the parliament session with your formula of the interim government, if you have any,” he added.

Meanwhile, indicating BNP and like minded parties, Quamrul said, “Stage demonstration by following the rules so that the government could not file any case against you. Otherwise, government knows how to face unlawful movement.”

He came up with the forewarning while addressing a discussion meeting on war criminals’ trial arranged by Bangabandhu Academy in National Press Club on Monday.

The state minister assured the Opposition that the government will provide all sort of cooperation to make the next election fairer.

Besides, he forewarned opposition so that they do not create sufferings for people and hamper rule of laws by calling unnecessary hartal or any other movement.

With Bangabandhu Academy vice-president Rabeya Mostafa in the chair, the discussion meeting was also addressed by city Awami League vice-president Wazed Mia and many other leaders of Awami League and its associate organizations.
